Our project on CPW was all about expansion. Our clients, and their young family, had lived in the building for a number of years and had renovated the space previously. The renovation was beautiful and captured their personality and love for design. But they started to outgrow the space as the kids got older, and it lacked the capabilities to host family gatherings. Luckily, an opportunity to arouse to purchase the apartment above them. That's when they reached out to us.

The apartment above was originally two smaller apartments combined by the previous owners. The space offered everything our clients needed with room for a large open-plan kitchen/dining space, dry-bar for entertainment, additional sitting space, a powder room, office, and much-needed guest bedroom for family and friends. The challenge for our team was in adding the staircase between the two spaces. Navigating the structural beams and columns, we found a solution that worked for our clients without compromising on space. We also maximized space on the landing to create a cozy reading nook for the kids.

Once we had finalized the layout of the new duplex, we turned our attention to the overall look and feel. Our clients wanted to inject some color and weren't afraid to make a statement. We combined vibrant blues with pink tones in the kitchen backsplash, dining space, and powder room. The final design is bold and energetic, with touches of luxury to help balance everyday life with entertainment.
