Kitchen Reno
We were excited to get the call to renovate this 1 bed/1 bath apartment as the owner is related to a previous client. They had lived in the apartment for more than 12 years and decided to invest in their home rather than move. The owner wanted a classic but bold redesign of the space, with a focus on adding much need storage without compromising the overall look & feel.
The previous owners installed a mirrored backsplash in the kitchen and a mirrored ceiling in the bathroom to create the illusion of space. This was high on our client’s wish-list of things to remove, so our challenge was to design a scheme that felt spacious without the trickery of mirrors. With a gut-renovation, a fresh new materials palette, and a focus on the smaller details, we were able to elevate the home’s feel and function. We designed bespoke millwork throughout, allowing for much needed closet storage in the entry way, a dry bar for entertaining in the living space, and an under-window storage with integrated laundry pull-outs.
Our team also assisted with the Interior Design for this project and helped to create a cohesive design complimenting the custom millwork details with contrasting tones and bold pops of color. The space truly captures our client’s personality and our shared love of design.
