When the Crafted Interiors team was first approached with this project, the owners were a bit overwhelmed in their space and wanted some Interior Design help. Their three young kids had taken over the apartment with toys and clutter and they were ready to create a more grown up and sophisticated home, suitable for entertaining but also still comfortable for the young family of five.

Our team’s challenges included giving a very unique staircase a new life and providing functional and much-needed storage. We modernized the staircase and built a closet beneath with plenty of hidden storage. In addition to the redesign of the staircase, we designed & built classy white and walnut built-ins, both downstairs & upstairs to store our client’s extensive book collection, while still allowing for plenty of accessible storage space for the kids’ belongings. Downstairs, we selected furniture & finishes to include some bold statement pieces, like the floral rug, while maintaining balance with neutral dining pieces. The master suite upstairs was designed to be soft and retreat-like with neutrals and the accent of a deep purple wall.

The end result left our clients with a polished home that is still comfortable for their kids. The space is thoughtfully designed to suit the busy, young family.
